Not available for 2024 BLACKBERRY PLANT PRICE LIST:
Apache-Pat.#11865: Apache produces yields higher than or similar to Arapaho and Navaho. It is larger than either Arapaho or Navaho, usually twice as large as Navaho, and 80% larger than Arapaho. First harvest date for Apache averages 15 days later than Arapaho. Fruit firmness was rated lower for Apache compared to Navaho, but comparable to Arapaho. Flavor of Apache was rated very good. Apache is more erect than either of the comparative thorn-less erect cultivars. Outstanding characteristics of Apache include: large fruit, good yields, good fruit quality and thorn-less, vigorous, healthy erect plants.
Arapaho-Pat.#8510: An early ripening, erect, thorn-less blackberry that quickly establishes full fruiting row. Fruit is short, conic shaped and bright black in color. Fruit is firm, similar to Navaho and more firm than Shawnee and Choctaw. Flavor is similar to Navaho. Seed size is small. Ripens about eleven days earlier than Navaho, and two days before Shawnee. Fruiting period is less than four weeks. Plants are moderately vigorous and very erect.
Natchez-Pat. Pending: Natchez ripens about the same time as Arapaho. Yields are twice as much as Arapaho and comparable to Ouachita and Apache. Berry size is large and remains large for the entire fruiting season. Quality is good. Canes are erect to semi-erect and thorn-less. Fruit is elongated and somewhat blocky and very attractive with an exceptional glossy black finish.
Navaho-Pat. #6679: Released from University of Arkansas in 1988. Ripens about one week later than Shawnee, and about 15 days after Cheyenne. It is thorn-less, erect, self-supporting, with sweeter tasting berries than other thorn-less varieties. Size is comparable only to Cheyenne. Emergence of plants from root cuttings is only 65%, therefore, a closer spacing of root cuttings is necessary. Berries are conic in shape, bright glossy black. Fruit is firmer than other thorny varieties, and seed size is smaller than other thorn-less types.
Osage - Pat. Pending: Osage was developed with the intention of advancing flavor to a higher level in a thornless blackberry cultivar. Osage ripens mid-early, slightly before Ouachita and just after Natchez. Osage produces medium-sized berries and has excellent post-harvest quality for the shipping market. The fruit is glossy with a uniform black finish and the firmness is an exceptional characteristic. It also demonstrates excellent storage potential, as well as being thornless, and erect. Outstanding characteristics of this fruit are its flavor, overall high quality post-harvest handling, and consistent high yields. All in all an excellent plant.
Ouachita-Pat. Pending: The fourth thorn-less released by the University of Arkansas; very productive, sweet and medium sized. Ripens between Arapaho and Navaho. Resistant to double blossom, very erect with berry size larger than Navaho, but smaller than Apache. Fruit storage and handling very good - similar to Navaho.
